Rebecca Chapman

Research Associate

Rebecca (Becky) Chapman is a Research Associate with the Council of Canadian Academies.

Becky first joined the CCA in January 2012 through the internship program. She holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Ottawa, completed in the fall of 2011 under the supervision of David Bryce. Her academic research centered on the development of chlorine solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) as method to study a variety of materials, including catalysts and models for chloride-ion channels. She also holds a B.Sc. (Hon) in Chemistry from McMaster University where she carried out research on understanding the chemistry behind lithium-ion batteries. Throughout her academic career, Becky enjoyed teaching theoretical material and laboratory skills to undergraduate students, and participating in student government and scientific outreach programs.
