Marc Dufresne

Senior Bilingual Publications Specialist

Marc Dufresne is a Senior Bilingual Publications Specialist with the Council of Canadian Academies.

Marc holds a B.Sc. in Physiology and Toxicology and a Master’s degree in Immunotoxicology from the Université du Québec à Montréal. During the course of his schooling, Marc studied the effects of xenobiotics on the immune system of marine mammals (beluga whales and seals) in the St. Lawrence River and the Canadian North.

Marc has since worked in a wide variety of research fields, in Canada and in the United States, from proteins synthesis, to microbiology, to physiology to behavioral neurobiology. He also furthered his training in translation, layout and design, and video making.

Marc volunteers for a sport museum and a scientific fair, and is an avid curler and fisherman.
