Christina Stachulak

Senior Advisor to the President

Christina Stachulak is Senior Advisor to the President at the Council of Canadian Academies.

Christina has been with the Council since its inception in 2006. She has over 10 years of experience in science policy, having held positions as science attaché at the Canadian Embassy in Paris and with the National Science Advisor to the Prime Minister at the Privy Council Office. As one of the Council’s first Program Directors, she has led a wide range of expert panel assessments on science, technology and innovation, and spearheaded the development of the Council’s assessment processes and methodology.

She has a M.Sc. in Science and Technology Policy from SPRU at the University of Sussex (UK) and a B.Sc. (Hon) in biochemistry from the University of Ottawa, while doing undergraduate research at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School.  In 2001, she was selected as national winner of the As Prime Minister Award for her vision of innovation in Canada. She is fluently bilingual in English and French, and speaks Polish and Spanish.
