Margaret Dalziel

Associate Professor, Conrad Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology Centre, University of Waterloo and Co-Founder and VP Research, The Evidence Network (Waterloo, ON)

Margaret Dalziel is Associate Professor in the Conrad Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology Centre at the University of Waterloo. She is also Co-founder and VP Research of The Evidence Network, a company that provides assessments of the impact of innovation interventions on companies.

Dr. Dalziel joined the University of Waterloo in 2013 from the University of Ottawa, where she was Associate Professor in the Telfer School of Management. Dr. Dalziel joined the University of Ottawa in 2001 with 15 years’ experience in technology development and research management in the private sector with the Canadian Space Agency and with the Centre for Intelligent Machines in McGill University’s Faculty of Engineering.

Currently, Dr. Dalziel teaches courses in technology entrepreneurship, and conducts research on interorganizational relations focusing on innovation intermediaries and the structure of the economy in terms of inter-industry relations. Her research has been supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and she has published or presented over 60 articles, including over 25 articles related to innovation intermediaries. Publication venues include leading academic journals such as Research Policy, the Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, and the British Journal of Management.

Dr. Dalziel holds degrees in business (PhD, Université du Québec à Montréal; MBA, McGill University), computer science (B.Sc., McGill University), and music (ARCT, The Royal Conservatory of Music).
