Yves Beauchamp, C.Q., FCAE

Yves Beauchamp is the Vice Principal, Administration and Finance, McGill University. Prior thereto, he served two terms as Director General of École de technologie supérieure (ETS), and was a member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering faculty. Under Prof. Beauchamp's decade of leadership, ETS experienced extraordinary growth, with a major campus expansion and renovation. It was during his tenure that ETS initiated the Quartier de l'innovation partnership with McGill University. He was also Vice-Rector responsible for the development of the new campus of Université de Montréal where he lent his expertise to a major development project at the Université de Montréal - the new Site Outremont satellite campus and its Science and Engineering Complex.

Dr. Beauchamp has also contributed to the development of his field through the publication of peer­reviewed articles, research reports published by the Quebec Occupational Health and Safety Research Institute and other academic writings. Dr. Beauchamp holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering and a Masters in Industrial Safety and Hygiene from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, as well as a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering - human factors engineering - from the West Virginia University.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Beauchamp has received numerous awards and acknowledgements, including the Knight of the National Order of Quebec (2014), the Medaille de I' Assemblée Nationale of the Government of Quebec (2013), a recognition from the Order of Engineers of Quebec for outstanding achievement in research and teaching (2013), the Queen Elizabeth II Gold Jubilee Medal (2002) and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012). He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (2010) and he is a member of several professional associations and has been appointed to serve on numerous boards of directors, such as the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
