"With grateful thanks, we bid a fond farewell to our outgoing members, whose time, energy, and commitment to the Board and to the CCA have been invaluable," said Margaret Bloodworth, C.M., Chair of the Board. "We are delighted to welcome two new members -Chad Gaffield and Doug Ruth - both eminent leaders in their respective fields. Their expertise and perspectives will be strong additions to the Board."

The CCA Board of Governors consists of 12 members. Each of its three Member Academies - the Royal Society of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences - nominate two governors. Four governors are nominated by the Minister of Science, and two governors are nominated from the general public. The Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the CCA, including fulfillment of its mandate and oversight of its operations.
