Jim
Roche, past President and CEO of CMC Microsystems, has over 20 years of
leadership from the semiconductor industry. He served as interim President
and CEO of CMC from November 2006 to July 2007, while the Board of Directors
conducted an executive search for a new President and CEO. Before his
term at CMC, he co-founded in 1995 Tundra Semiconductor Corporation, a
leading semiconductor company, and was its President and CEO until late
2006. Under his guidance, Tundra grew to over 300 employees with operations
around the world, revenues of over $80M per annum and a market value of
over $300M on the TSX stock exchange.
Prior to his tenure with Tundra, Mr. Roche was a founding member in 1986 of Newbridge Networks Corporation, a manufacturer of data and voice communications products. He helped Newbridge grow to over 5,000 employees and earn revenues of over $1B. Jim held various engineering and management positions at Newbridge, including General Manager of the Semiconductor Products Division.
Jim has served on numerous public, private and non-profit boards including
Tundra Semiconductor, Fidus Systems, Precarn, CANARIE, OCRI, Queensway-Carleton
Hospital and the Great Canadian Theatre Company.
